Joseph G. Richer Elected to Second Term on Board of Directors

San Antonio, TX – Joseph G. Richer was elected to a second term on the Board of Directors for The International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards at the 104th annual convention that was held February 28-29, 2008, in San Antonio, Texas.

Mr. Richer was elected in 2005 to The Conference Board of Directors as the Director of District 4, representing Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Ontario.

Richer developed his knowledge of the complexities of the funeral service profession during his five years as an inspector for the Ontario Board of Funeral Services. He was appointed registrar of the board in 1998.

Richer is a strong supporter of education for funeral service licensees and hopes to use his new position to promote transparency and accountability for the funeral service profession.

Born in Chatham, Ontario, Richer holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. Richer, his wife Susan Ratkai, and their two children live in Toronto.
