There are two requirements for NBE secure online registration:

1. You must have an e-mail address.
Your e-mail is used to notify you that your application has been received and your credit card processed.

2. You must have a valid credit or debit card.
A valid credit/debit card allows you to pay for your examination fees online. The cost to take the NBE is $400.00.(Retake of either the NBE Arts or NBE Sciences is $200.)

Your application and credit card information are submitted using a SECURE SERVER, so your information remains protected throughout the registration process. This is a secure and convenient way to register for the NBE.

If you don't have an active e-mail address or a credit/debit card, you can download the Application Form here and mail the completed paperwork to The Conference.

Please read the NBE Candidate Handbook before submitting your application, so you will be familiar with the rules and regulations that govern the National Board Examination (NBE). You will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader program to view the NBE Candidate Handbook online.

Please Note: Only those persons who have graduated with an associate's degree from an ABFSE accredited program are eligible to sit for any portion of the NBE. If you graduated with a Certificate of Proficiency in Funeral Directing, you may be eligible to sit for a State Board Examination in some states. Please contact the appropriate regulatory board for details on state licensure requirements.
