Martin Rieken Elected President of The Conference

 

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – Martin Rieken was elected President of The International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards at the 120th Annual Meeting.

 

He was also re-elected to serve his second term as District 6 Director. The event was held from February 27-29, 2024, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

 

Mr. Rieken previously served as the Vice President in 2023 after being appointed to The Conference Board of Directors in 2020 and elected to his first term the following year. As District 6 Director, he represents Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

 

Mr. Rieken is a past president of the Iowa Funeral Directors Association and currently serves on the Iowa Board of Mortuary Science. He and his wife, Kristy, own and operate three funeral homes in Iowa and have five children: Kyler, Keaten, Kort, Kasper, and Maelie.

 

The International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards is headquartered in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Founded in 1904, the membership of The Conference is composed of funeral service licensing and regulatory agencies throughout the United States and Canada.
