Fayetteville, AR — The International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards (The Conference) is pleased to announce the formation of its newly appointed Model Application Committee.
Following a robust and highly competitive applicant pool, the committee has been selected to review and update The Conference Model Application — a foundational resource supporting consistency and clarity in funeral service licensure processes across jurisdictions.
The newly appointed committee members are:
Kortney Adams, Executive Manager of the Nova Scotia Board of Registration of Embalmers and Funeral Directors – Chair
Mark Evely, Program Director, Wayne State University
Erika Malone, Executive Director of the Maryland Board of Morticians and Funeral Directors
Originally developed in 2016 and last updated in February 2020, the Model Application serves as a comprehensive guide for member jurisdictions when evaluating and amending their own licensure applications. Its goal is to promote greater standardization across the profession, improve public understanding of funeral service licensure, and enhance portability for licensees through consistent requirements.
If you are interested in volunteering on future committees or other opportunities, please fill out the ICFSEB Volunteer Form.
