In recent years, licensed professions have been turning to interstate compacts to help solve issues around licensure portability and multistate practice. These compacts, which are legally binding agreements between states, enhance mobility for licensed professionals by allowing for the mutual recognition of licensure in other compact member states. Licensure compacts are a popular tool for states because they protect state sovereignty by allowing member states to continue to enforce their practice standards and enhance the ability of member states to protect the public.

Join The Conference and compact experts from The Council of State Governments for an overview of interstate compacts, their use in other professions, and discussion of the potential for a compact in the funeral service industry.
